As one who has to pump up to 30-ounces a day in order to keep up with my baby boy I can attest to the speed, and efficiency of the pump in style. While on a holiday, I misplaced the membranes to the Pump In Style which were necessary to work. Seeing as how my breasts were ready to burst, I bought an Avent Isis pump. The Isis was brilliant in a pinch, or for a long weekend away; however, the Medela Pump In Style breast pump was a cut above in both the swiftness and magnitude. The Pump in Style breast pump helped me to pump 16-ounces in 20 minutes, whereas it took me 30 to 40-minutes to express 10-ounces with the Isis.
Superior Comfort:
Using a breast pump takes two thing; time and rehearsal. It can also be agonizing if your nipples are sore, cracked, or bleeding. I used some PurLan breast cream after each sitting, so I never experienced trouble. The Pump In Style accommodates smaller and larger chests alike. Small breast shields are provided as well as larger breast shields for choice pull, and comfort. The suction is adaptable, and I recommend that one start with the lowest of speeds. I rapidly graduated to the highest speed, which made for very effective pumping.
Breast Pump Set-up & Sanitation
Setting up the Pump In Style is a breeze compared to the Isis pump. There are 5-simple steps in all, and it takes 2 to 3-minutes tops. Make certain the tubing is fitted securely, and that the membranes are dry and laying flat. Then Start pumping. After each session, disassemble and clean. Most of the parts included in the accessory kit are safe for the dishwasher and could be sterilized by steam as well. Though the membranes and tubing should be hand washed only. If you plan to run the Pump In Style through the dishwasher, make certain to place the valves in a basket for protection from the heat.
