I never really thought of my home town as a vacation destination when I was younger and growing up. It was a gorgeous place, and there was a great lake nearby, but it did not seem as if anything special to me. I guess that I sort of took it for granted, if you wish to know the truth. One day, the only people I ever saw around were townspeople, and practically the following day, there were all these vacationers renting cabins and cottages.

People would save money on paying the rates for Santa Barbara hotels by leasing a cottage for the entire season! I looked at the night by night rate at Santa Barbara hotels versus the season rate of the cottages, and it made lots of sense.
Seeing all of these people getting cottage rentals got me thinking. I realized that I had not ever done any overseas traveling, and that I most likely should while I am still young. I'm kind of a homebody for the most part. Generally, I'm glad going to work, getting a drink or two at the pub after work, and going home to enjoy a great movie or book. It does not take much to make me glad. Nevertheless, I have always wanted to travel - especially to Europe. I have some family members in Britain who I have not ever met, and it seems like the perfect time to go visit them. If I can find cottages to rent, we can all get away for a bit and enjoy the well known English countryside together.
Since that time, I've been looking into English cottages for rent. I had not really been prepared for how much it costs to travel abroad. Still, I've been saving and saving money for awhile, so it shouldn't be too difficult to afford a week or two in the British countryside this summer. I actually think that I have found a bungalow to rent that is perfect for my needs. I'm not sure yet, but it is looking better and better. Even though it's outside of town just a bit, you can still ride the bus into London. This means that I am able to visit the countryside, but have some time in the city as well! I cannot wait to go!
